Dimwitted Criminal (DC) of the Week: Woman stabs lover
The suspect was later spotted hiding at a house just metres away from the scene were the victim was found.
A woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her live-in lover on Sunday, 29 January at about 5.35pm.
It is alleged the Kagiso Police received a complaint about a stabbing in Swaneville earlier that day. The station deployed crime prevention officers to investigate.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police went to the complainant (the neighbour), who directed the police to the victim, who was lying in a pool of blood on the floor inside his house.
He was rushed to hospital as he had sustained serious injuries to his head and upper body. The suspect was later spotted hiding at a house just metres away from the scene where the victim was found.
She was arrested and taken to the Kagiso Police Station where a case of attempted murder was opened against her. She made a brief appearance in court a few days later and has been remanded in custody until a formal bail hearing can be scheduled.
The motive for the stabbing remains unknown.
