Man fatally stabbed during house robbery
Magaliesburg police arrested four suspects for murder and house-breaking.
Four men were arrested on 25 January for murder and house robbery in the Serio informal settlement in Magaliesburg.
This follows after the four suspects broke into a house in the area in December last year. A man was stabbed on scene and lost his life in Leratong Hospital.
The other residents of the house were not injured. After the suspects left, they called the police who soon arrived. According to the A1 statement (a form stating the oath or affirmation to the police official taking the statement), a number of cellphones and R6 000 cash were stolen.
Information from Sergeant Helms Simali of the Magaliesburg Police indicates that their investigation linked the suspects to the robbery. The four, believed to be between the ages of 24 and 36, are allegedly first-time offenders and were caught hiding in different houses in the area.
The four suspects will face charges of murder and house robbery and will make an appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
