Man brutally assaulted while looking for girlfriend
They handcuffed him and assaulted him brutally before running away.
Kagiso police arrested four suspects on Sunday, 12 February after they allegedly assaulted a man in Rietvlei.
The complainant went to a tavern at about 1.30am that morning in search of his girlfriend. He was approached by the four suspects who were aged between 20 and 30. The suspects stopped the complainant and when he tried to flee, they chased him and caught him. One of the suspects searched him and took his cash and cellphone. Then they allegedly handcuffed him and assaulted him brutally before running away. The complainant went to the Kagiso Police Station to lay charges against the suspects.
The Kagiso police launched a search for the suspects, who were arrested soon after the investigation started. The suspects were later detained at the Kagiso Police Station.
A case docket of Assault GBH was opened at the police station. The suspects appeared briefly in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and were released on warning to appear again within the next week.
