Body discovered in Munsieville

Krugersdorp police are investigating a case of murder after they discovered the body of a man early on Sunday morning, 19 February.
It is believed the police were contacted after community members stumbled across the body of the 28-year-old deceased in the open veld in Munsieville at about 7am that morning.
Police were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival noticed the man’s hands were tied and that he had sustained severe head injuries. He was certified dead soon after they arrived on scene.
The man has been identified by family and the police have opened a case of murder. An informant told the News that the man allegedly fell victim to mob justice and was tied up and beaten by an angry mob after he allegedly stole someone’s cellphone.
