Fake cops: Motorists – be vigilant!
Police spokesperson urges the community to still be vigilant and report any incidents.
Unidentified men are pretending to be police officers and conning unsuspecting victims all over the West Rand.
The News recently received information about unidentified men driving around in an unmarked Volkswagen Golf, pretending to be police members.
They approach motorists by pulling them over using a blue light. As soon as the motorist stops, they search the car and rob them at gunpoint.
The News obtained feedback from the Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, who confirmed that no such incidents had been reported at the station. However, similar incidents have been reported in other areas outside of Krugersdorp.
Mashale urges the community to still be vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may take place in Krugersdorp.
“The public must inform us about these situations in order for action to take place,” said Mashale.
