Young car thieves nabbed in Kagiso
Despite the the fact that the complainant did not mention any details of his car, Kagiso Crime Prevention members managed to trace and arrest the suspects.
Kagiso Police arrested four suspects aged between 22 and 32 on Sunday, 26 February after they had allegedly stolen a vehicle earlier that day.
The victim alleged that he was driving around in Kagiso when four men suddenly appeared and stopped him. They allegedly forced him to get out of his vehicle and then assaulted him.
They threatened to stab him and showed him their knives. The complainant fled the scene on foot, leaving the car keys and cash behind. Despite the fact that the complainant did not mention any details of his car, Kagiso Crime Prevention members managed to trace and arrest the suspects. The vehicle was retrieved and returned to its rightful owner.
The suspects were detained at Kagiso Police Station and a case of armed robbery was registered. They made a brief appearance in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody for formal bail applications.
