Old Hollywood glamour, delicious food, exceptional entertainment and great prizes to boot … all in the name of charity, of course!

The annual Travelbags fundraiser was recently hosted at the lovely Glenburn Lodge and Spa in Muldersdrift. Celebrities from all walks of life descended on the picturesque venue where they sipped delicious cocktails and champagne while indulging in the latest hot gossip.

Rian van Heerden, the emcee for the event, Guvon Hotels’ Ambassador and 7de Laan actor David Rees, and actor and entertainer Philip Moolman.

The fundraiser was held in aid of the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation. The foundation supports communities with basic services such as playgroups, soup kitchens, skills development, job creation, clothing banks, social and psychological support, libraries and so forth. The foundation’s CEO, actress Hanna Grobler, started the non-profit organisation in 2008.

The foundation’s mission is to join hands with the poor and marginalised people of South Africa.

Michelle Hinrichsen welcomed guests on behalf of Travelbags.

“We provide personal attention and direct benefits to children, the youth, the aging and their families so they may live with dignity, achieve their desired potential and participate fully in society,” their mission statement on their website reads.
