One injured as vehicle ends up on cycad plant

Emergency services arrived at the scene and found the wreckage against the stump of the cycad.

One person was injured when his vehicle veered off the road and came to rest on top of a cycad plant on Saturday evening.

At about 7.26pm on the evening of 8 April, Netcare 911 paramedics and the local fire services responded to a collision close to the Alma Mater International School, on Albertina Sisulu Road.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and found the wrecked vehicle against the stump of the cycad. On examination it was found that the driver had sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported him to the nearest hospital to receive the care he needed.

Exact details of the cause of the crash and preceding events are still speculative and will form part of the police investigation.
