Man severely assaulted at local cemetery
The suspects accused the man of stealing their TV.
A man was recently severely assaulted at a local cemetery after being kidnapped by six suspects in a taxi.
It’s alleged that the man was at his friend’s house earlier that day when six suspects approached him and started to manhandle him. They forced him into the taxi and drove to a nearby cemetery.

Upon arrival, the suspects undressed him and continued to beat him over the head and body. He sustained several injuries during the attack. They accused him of stealing their TV. The suspects then fled the scene in the taxi. The man was later admitted to hospital and his injuries were treated.
He was discharged after four days of treatment and went to the Kagiso Police Station to lay charges of assault and kidnapping. The police searched for four suspects whom they found, searched and eventually arrested. They were later detained at the Kagiso Police Station.

A case docket of assault and kidnapping was reopened and the suspects formally charged. They appeared briefly in court and were remanded in custody for formal bail applications.
