Possibility of no water in Krugersdorp this coming long weekend
IMPORTANT READ: Residents are urged to take note immediately.
Various local DA ward councillors have confirmed that there might be a water shortage in Krugersdorp this coming long weekend.
It is believed that the substation which burnt down in Florida is unable to provide the power needed to pump water from Rand Water to the reservoir located next to the Khosa Sports Club in Kenmare.

The poor water flow is causing delays in filling up the reservoir, which at the moment is only 50 per cent full.
The high demand for water could cause taps to run dry within three days.
The ward councillors have asked the community to conserve water to ensure that Krugersdorp still has some left for the long weekend.
Zillah Wehinger-Maguire, one of the local ward councillors, urged residents to use water sparingly.
“Please do not water gardens and wash cars using garden hoses,” said Zillah. “Water tankers will be deployed to various areas should we experience a water outage.”
The areas that might be worst affected include Kenmare, Krugersdorp North, Noordheuwel and Monument.
