Baby abandoned in Key West toilets finally gets a name
Since the baby received help from numerous bystanders moments after all hope had almost been lost, she has been given a particularly appropriate name.
The newborn baby who was abandoned in a toilet in Key West Shopping Centre last week, has finally been named.
A release from Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital’s staff said that they named the baby girl Hope, because she had received help from numerous bystanders moments after all hope had almost been lost. As a result, she has already received some clothes, baby blankets, toiletries and Pampers nappies from a good Samaritan.

Hope was brought in by ER24 paramedics who treated her in Key West centre’s restrooms after she was discovered by shoppers at about 11am on Friday, 5 May.
She arrived at the hospital with her umbilical cord still attached to her body. She was wrapped in toilet-paper and a black T-shirt.
Since her arrival, baby Hope has been deemed healthy and has maintained normal movements of her upper and lower limbs. She is drinking milk and smiles every now and then.
She will be kept in hospital until social services have all the paperwork ready to transfer her to a care-taking facility.
