Child run over in petrol station car park in stable condition
Due to the size of the vehicle the boy sustained severe injuries.
A two-year-old child is in a stable condition after an incident at the Sasol service station at the R29/ N14 intersection in Pinehaven.
At about midday yesterday, 9 May, paramedics from QRS and Netcare 911 attended to the child, who was run over in the parking area of the service station.
When the QRS crew arrived on scene, they found the Netcare 911 paramedic treating the boy, who was in a critical condition. All the paramedics cooperated, working quickly to stabilise the boy, using advanced life support intervention. Once stabilised, he was taken to hospital.

The national traffic police were also on scene and escorted the ambulance to the hospital. QRS would like to thank the national traffic police for their assistance.
According to an eye-witnesses the boy was walking in the car parking area and accidentally stepped behind an SUV that was reversing out of a parking bay. Due to the size of the vehicle the boy sustained severe injuries. Fortunately the Netcare 911 paramedic was already there and could assist immediately.
