The investigators worked tirelessly to make a breakthrough in this case. Their investigations revealed that the suspect is an employee at the same mall. She was arrested at her workplace. She will be charged with child abandonment and is expected to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.

“Intensive investigations were rewarded today,” said Lieutenant Colonel Kathy Segotta, FCS commander. “We can report that the baby is also doing well.”

After she had been discovered the baby was named Hope. Various kind-hearted community members have started to donate clothes and other items to the baby to ensure that she is warm this winter.

Key West Centre Management will be hosting a collection drive for baby products, clothing, accessories, blankets and toys. Kindly drop off all donations at the Centre Management offices or the Information Desk before Wednesday, 17 May.
