Attackers tie naked man to pole and kill him

His body was found by community members who drove past the scene the next morning

The body of a man was found tied to a road sign pole on Wednesday, 10 May at about 7am. It is believed a resident called police to inform them of what seemed like a totem pole at the intersection of Dulcie Street and Impala Road.

The deceased was naked and had numerous injuries to his head. His face was swollen. He was on the ground in a sitting position with his body bound to the road sign pole. His hands were tied to his back.

Kagiso Police launched an investigation into the matter and have taken a 25-year-old suspect into custody for questioning.

Brigadier Ngubane, the commander of Kagiso Police warned people who ignore or undermine the police’s call to refrain from mob justice. He said they themselves will feel the might of the law.

No further arrests have been made and police investigations are continuing. The police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of perpetrators to call Kagiso Police on 011 696 9059/ 9000/ 9065 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
