[DC of the WEEK] Man found guilty of assault in Patata Draai

This week's Dimwitted Criminal of the Week award goes to a man who lives in Patata Draai.

A 51-year-old man has been found guilty of assaulting his female neighbour by hitting her on the forehead with a hammer. The incident happened on Wednesday, 3 May in Patata Draai, Hekpoort.

He was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment.

The owner of this knife was sentenced to six months in prison or a R3 000 fine.

In another case, 25-year-old Amos Mlambo was found guilty in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court of possession of a dangerous weapon and intimidation.

The accused threatened to kill his victim and police were called to the scene. Upon searching his bag, police found a knife.

He was found guilty on both charges and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment or a R3 000 fine. He was declared unfit to posses a firearm.
