Career choices has never been so easy

The day's aim was to introduce these young women to a whole new world full of possibilities and opportunities.

Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work Day gives young, upcoming businesswomen the knowledge they require to choose a career.

The initiative has become a respected movement aimed at imparting career knowledge to girls.

UniCollege West Rand recently participated in the national initiative for the first time, and hosted six young women from various high schools.

The day’s aim was to introduce these young women to a whole new world full of possibilities and opportunities. The college, in conjunction with the Thoughtful Path organisation, which is situated in Muniesville, hosted six girls from the Thuto Lefa Secondary School. The day kicked-off with a career test that helped the girls to find a career that best suited their abilities.

“We also received more detailed information about career choices we’d already made and about careers we did not even know existed,” said Enkosi Rakhudu.

The women were all treated at the college and told the News they felt the initiative was very important. They also believe the college helped them with career choices, so that they now have clearer and more open minds about their future.

“We now also know what we must do to make our dream careers a reality,” said Daphney Cele.

UniCollege is very excited to start planning for next year’s day and feels blessed they were able to play a vital role in the women’s future career choices.
