Being in possession of dagga is still a crime
Regardless of the pending court order which might legalise dagga, the possession thereof is still a criminal offence.
Hekpoort Police recently arrested a 30-year-old suspect for being possession of dagga.
They were busy with a crime prevention operation in the area when they discovered dagga in a house they searched on Friday, 26 May.

They found a plastic bag containing the illegal substance hidden behind a fridge.
The owner of the house was arrested and detained at the Krugersdorp Police cells. He will appear in court soon.
