Krugersdorp Lions and Leos celebrate existence by giving back

This event was held in an effort to create awareness of the impact diabetes can have on one’s life.

Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion, and where there is a Lion, there is hope. Lions Club International, which is the largest service club in the world, recently celebrated an astonishing 100 years of service to communities all around the world, and the Krugersdorp Lions Club’s celebration was no exception.

The Krugersdorp Lions and Leos recently conducted a diabetes testing event at the Anthos Centre in Monument, in celebration of the organisation’s existence. This event was held in an effort to create awareness of the impact diabetes can have on one’s life.

During this day they also assisted Emmers vol Liefde – a charity whose main goal is to offer assistance to families in need in Mogale City – to sort and pack clothes and soup packs for families in need.

“We would like to thank the Leos Club – they really helped us a lot. I also want to praise St Ursula’s School for the well-educated children, it really was a pleasure having them with us. Their enthusiasm and energy made my jaw drop to the floor,” said Betsie Stokes, founder of Emmers vol Liefde.

“This makes me excited me about the quality of our children and our future. Well done to everybody,” she concluded.
