Three murders in a single day

Are these suspects on a rampage through town?

Kagiso Police are now investigating three murders, all of which occurred on the same day last week, during what seems to be a killing spree by suspected robbers who rampaged through Tshepisong.

Two men were found lying in a pool of blood in a spaza shop in Tshepisong on Tuesday, 18 July. The members of the public who found them informed police that one had already succumbed to his injuries before they arrived on scene. He was 28 years old and had sustained a gunshot to his head. On further investigation, police found the second victim metres away from the first. He was bleeding profusely.

He had sustained a gunshot wound next to his ear, but luckily he was still breathing. He was rushed to hospital and deemed in a critical condition.

In the meantime, Kagiso Police have opened a case docket of murder and attempted murder. The motive for the shooting is also being investigated.

In another case which occurred on the same day, one man lost his life after he was shot in the shoulder and upper arm while driving a delivery truck. He was declared dead on scene.

The third case involved three suspects who shot a man who was walking around with his friends. Before drawing a firearm, the suspects enquired about the contents of the man’s backpack. The police suspect that the killers were robbers as they took the victim’s backpack after shooting him.

It’s not yet clear whether or not these three cases are linked, but they all occurred in the same area on the same day.

Kagiso Police are therefore appealing to members of the community with information about the perpetrator(s) to call them on 011 696 9000/ 9059/ 9065/ 9068 or on the emergency Crime Stop line on 08600 10111. They can also use the free SMS tip-off line, 32211, and remain anonymous.
