[FOLLOW UP] Police statement about Commissioner Street robbery

The Krugersdorp Police are investigating a case of armed robbery which occurred in front of a jewellery store in Commissioner Street in Krugersdorp’s CBD on Tuesday, 25 July.
Video footage of the incident showed that one vehicle was parked at the side of the road. A second smashed into it.

“When the woman’s son, who can be seen getting out of the parked vehicle to confront the driver of the second vehicle, saw that one of the suspects was holding a gun, he immediately grabbed his mother and ran for safety,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police.
While hiding, they heard two shots being fired and the car speeding off.
The suspects were driving a Mercedes-Benz with an unknown registration number and carrying automatic rifles and other hand-guns. They stole a laptop, handbag and other valuable belongings from the car.
No serious injuries were reported.
