Senior citizens spoiled for Women’s Day
On Tuesday, 8 August, some of the women gathered at the Pink Hall in Rietvallei where they listened to a motivational speech by Pastor Ariah Hobbs. Each woman was reminded of how special and strong she truly is.
The Kopanang Bagolo Luncheon Club is home to about 18 senior citizens of the Rietvallei community. This club enables its members to stay young at heart through various activities such as arts and crafts, choir and knitting.

The seniors meet every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to pursue some fun activities while socialising with their friends. This is why SAVF (Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie) Môreglans Old Age Home came up with the initiative of spoiling these women for Women’s Day.

On Tuesday, 8 August, some of the women gathered at the Pink Hall in Rietvallei where they listened to a motivational speech by Pastor Ariah Hobbs. Each woman was reminded of how special and strong she truly is.
Even though they receive a visit from this old age home on a regular basis, the women were thrilled to receive some words of wisdom as well as ‘n bag of toiletries, including a face cloth, toothpaste and a toothbrush among other things.

“We are privileged to be able to do so many things for this luncheon club. This is an extraordinary group of women and we aim to empower them in any way possible,” Joyce Muzhizhizhi, Môreglans Old Age Home social worker said.
