Leo Club strikes again

With the same necessities and compassion they put together another 12 snugglers and collected 20 blankets to serve the vulnerable.

The Krugersdorp Leo Club recently paid a visit to the Tower of Life – a shelter focusing on sustainable livelihoods, serving the vulnerable, destitute and homeless persons of Mogale City – and they didn’t show up empty-handed.

Approximately one month ago, this club used a bit of love, hope, sincere thoughts and a few other necessities to put together about 20 Lions ‘snugglers’ in an effort to ease the winter chill for the homeless people of Krugersdorp.

A snuggler is a sleeping bag made from newspaper and soft plastic which serves as a durable, mobile ‘bed’ for the people living on the streets.

After one successful outing distributing sleeping bags around town, a group of almost 30 Leos decided that The Tower of Life was next and paid them a visit on Thursday, 17 August.

With the same necessities and compassion, they put together another 12 snugglers and collected 20 blankets to serve the vulnerable.

“Our aim is to help as many people as possible during this cold winter, because Krugersdorp, unfortunately, has many homeless people.

We are extremely passionate about giving where we can, and this was just one way of doing that,” Kiara Bendeman, Leo Club president said.

They trust that they have ensured quite a few homeless people of a warmer winter.
