[JUST IN] Police release statement about this morning’s robbery at Key West

"It is alleged that approximately 11 suspects forced the main door of the mall open."

Krugersdorp Police have released a statement about this morning’s robbery at Clicks in Key West Shopping Centre and said that they are now also investigating a case of attempted murder.

Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police, said the robbery and shooting happened at about 6.30am.

“It is alleged that approximately 11 suspects forced open the main door of the mall. They broke into one of the stores and stole numerous perfumes,”said Mashale.

It is alleged that while running from the scene the suspects shot at the security guards. Fortunately only one was injured.

“The suspects sped off in three vehicles, a red Audi, a white VW and a silver Ford.”

Krugersdorp Police have opened a case of attempted murder and business robbery.

The police are appealing to the community to assist with information that could assist in arresting the suspects involved in this crime. Information can be forwarded to Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
