Big Brilliant Bond Braai done and dusted

The special guests and Braai Competition judges included Braaiboy and Borries who fearlessly tasted 23 town’s signature braaied meat.

On Friday, 22 September, representatives of 23 small South African towns gathered around the same fire in the name of Heritage Day when Bond Gallery – a mortgage origination company – hosted its first ever Bond Gallery Braai.

This company, founded in 2013, has a national footprint and has firmly established itself within the property industry, continuously creating extensive relationships with its partners.

This is why the Bond Gallery North and West Rand branch came up with the initiative of hosting a Braai Day for their partners, where they competed in a braai, dance, tug of war and ‘boeresports’ competition.

During this event, which was held at the Krugersdorp Kloof Lapa, Bond Gallery represented South Africa itself as the host country, and each partner represented a small South African town.

“We thought it best to spice things up by allocating a small South African town to each partner as their theme for the day. They had the opportunity to portray their town on every platform imaginable. They impressed us when they went the extra mile to dress, braai and act out their given town. They really did their research and made it fun,” one of the directors, Kevin Mountjoy explained.

These partners included estate agents, attorneys and banks. Some of the towns represented were Tweebuffelsmeteenskootmorsdoodgeskietfontein, Klein Mier Nommer Een, Koffiefontein, Croocks Corner, Banana Beach and Mensvretersberg.

“Well, we tested the West Rand’s braai skills, and it’s astonishing what these people can do with braai tongs and some meat. Even though the competition was stiff, there could be only one winner, who we trust will be back next year to defend their title,” said Kevin and his co-director, Elmar Pittendrigh.

“We would also like to thank all our business partners for their participation and support and we look forward to an even bigger Bond Braai event next year.”
