Councillor helps community eat after storm

Due to the storm that ripped through Krugersdorp, many people have been left with nothing and have been relying on local NGO’s for food and shelter.

Zillah Maguire, councillor for ward 39 delivered staple foods to Evangeli E Encha NGO, which were generously sponsored by Pick n Pay, Kagiso.

“We have yet to receive assistance from disaster management and pray that it will come soon, as supplies are running incredibly low,” said Maguire.

Many businesses in the area have incurred millions of Rands of damages and almost 100 people have lost their homes.

“We are working tirelessly to try and restore the affected properties and assist the community wherever we can.”
