Jean Claude Jooste won a bakkie after buying a bag of maize.

Buying a bag of maize meal enabled Jean Claude Jooste to win a brand new Chevrolet bakkie at President Hyper.

All he and other entrants had to do was buy any of the three bags of Idlani Maize and enter their details on the back of their till slip in order to stand a chance of winning a bakkie.

The draw took place recently and 10 lucky participants’ slips were pulled out of a see-through box filled with thousands of slips.

After their names had been pulled out of the box, the participants were seated on 10 chairs, each labelled with a letter that spelled PresidentH.

The finalists were:

P: Elisabeth Sithole

R: Francois Johnson

E: Andile Bokweni

S: Iyaniphanda Mudav

I: Eben Groblerlaar

D: William Mjandi

E: Maepa Casvel

N: Jean Claude Jooste

T: Kabelo

H: Mqabi Sosiba

Then the contestants each received a envelope containing a key. They each had a chance to try to unlock the bakkie.

Many tried and failed. It was not until the eight contestant tried his key that the door finally sprang open.

The crowd erupted and Jean Claude smiled from ear to ear as they congratulated him on his brand new set of wheels.

The other contestants did not leave empty-handed, they each received a goody bag.

President Hyper was proud to have supported the initiative as Idlani Maize feeds, employs and supports thousands of people around the country.
