Church turns town upside down
With big dreams for the young and old of his congregation, he would like to invite all those interested to his services
“Sometimes you have to let life turn you upside down, so you can learn how to live, right side up.” Author unknown.
About two weeks ago, Krugersdorp became acquainted with the new kid on the block, known as the Upside Down Church.
According to Pastor Daniel Prinsloo, the name of the church originated from his aim to ‘turn the world upside down for Jesus’. During his most recent service, it became clear this congregation’s way of doing things was going to be somewhat different, just like their name stated.

On this day, he challenged his congregation to physically eat, pray, love and grow within the next week. With this he asked them to share at least three meals with someone outside their family, including one person outside the church. He asked them to pray for others including one person outside the church.
He motivated them to love and bless others in the form of their time, money, energy or even an encouraging text – one person being out of the church.
“Lastly, I encouraged them to grow to become like Jesus, because that’s our main drive. Here we change our statements into actions, because if faith doesn’t translate into works, it’s dead. Thus the practical challenges,” Daniel said.
“Upside Down Church’s missions include to love God, to love people and to be on God’s mission. We want to turn our statements into blossoming habits.”
With big dreams for the young and old of his congregation, he would like to invite all those interested to his services which are held at Silverfields Primary School every Sunday at 9 am.
“We make sure that each and every new member feels welcome, because we are family and we have a call to reach out to one another,” he concluded.
