[JUST IN] Krugersdorp taxi rank to be moved to town centre

The construction project forms part of the MCLM’s plan to regenerate the Krugersdorp CBD.

Mogale City Local Municipality, (MCLM) in a joint initiative with the local taxi associations, has announced that they will move the taxi rank located in Pretoria Street to Von Brandis Street on Monday, 19 March due to extensive construction at the former location.

The relocation process entails moving taxis, commuters and taxi-related activities from the existing Krugersdorp taxi rank (to be upgraded) to a temporary taxi rank in the Central Business District (CBD).

This initial rank relocation phase is to create a temporary infrastructure near the Krugersdorp Kwikspar (on Von Brandis Street) to create space for the planned construction of the taxi rank. The construction project forms part of the MCLM’s plan to regenerate Krugersdorp’s CBD and improve existing public transport facilities while working to expand public transport opportunities.

The following destinations will be serviced at the temporary taxi rank; Kagiso Ext 12, Kagiso 3, Kagiso Ext 14, Kagiso 2, Joshua Door, Leratong, Munsieville, Honeydew, Key West, Silverstar, Kromdraai, Lion Park, Swaneville, Central Kagiso, Cradlestone, Lewisham and Joshua, Tshepisong, Brits, Hekpoort, Mayibuye, Kagiso and Heuningklip and Muldersdrift.
