Prayer gatherings held at notorious intersections

The events were punctuated by the planting of crosses at the intersections.

Mogale City Executive Mayor, councillor Naga Patrick Lipudi, together with the community joined hands in prayer for the evil spirits that have caused havoc in the area and its surrounding.

The prayers, held under the theme ‘Praying for the Gates’, saw more than ten similar events being held across Mogale City at identified road intersections where horrific accidents frequently happen. The events coincided with Human Rights Day and is a partnership with the religious radio station, Rainbow FM.

The communities and pastors prayed for road accidents, crime, alcohol and substance abuse, poverty and joblessness, among others. The biggest prayer meeting took place in Kagiso along the K13 main road, better known as the ‘killer road’. This road has claimed more than 1 000 lives since its construction.

The events were punctuated by the planting of crosses at the intersections. Pastors who attended the main event included Joe Mabuela, Walter Hobbs, Ben Igwe and Ndumiso Mdaka.
