Breaking news: Woman dies while allegedly trying to overtake on N14

Woman was declared dead on scene

A woman died when the vehicle she was travelling in collided head-on with another vehicle on the N14.

A police officer who was on scene after the collision claims she tried to overtake a vehicle and realised the gap between her and the oncoming vehicle was too small for her to continue to overtake.

She allegedly tried to pull back into the lane she had just left, and collided side-on with a vehicle in that lane. Finally, she veered into the oncoming traffic, and hit a second vehicle head-on.

Various emergency services were on scene, attempting to save the woman, to no avail. She was declared dead on scene.

Local authorities were also on scene to take evidence
