Major crash on Easter Sunday – two seriously injured on N14
One was placed on life support after the collision and airlifted to hospital.
A man was airlifted and another sustained serious injuries when two vehicles collided on the N14 west near Muldersdrift on Sunday night, 1 April.
Shortly after 9pm, paramedics from ER24 and City of Johannesburg EMS found the five victims of the collision. Four were believed to have been occupants of a bakkie and one of a light motor vehicle.

One of the victims, believed to have been ejected from the bakkie, was in a critical condition. He sustained multiple injuries and was placed on life support on scene. A medical helicopter later airlifted him to Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital for further care. Another occupant of the bakkie sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The other two occupants of the bakkie were found to have sustained only minor injuries. They declined the offer to be transported to hospital.
The driver of the light motor vehicle was assessed on scene and attended to by another ambulance service. He sustained only minor injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known. Gauteng Traffic Police attended the scene.
