Easter Bunny hops through town

During their drive they covered areas such as Wentworth Park, Monument and Noordheuwel.

After a spate of recent sightings of an enormous white animal walking on two legs, the News decided to investigate.

Reports indicate that the animal was seen roaming the greater Krugersdorp East area on Saturday, 31 March.

Upon investigation, the News found that it was none other than the Easter Bunny, joining in on the marvellous Easter Drive that was hosted by Krugersdorp’s own Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF).

On this day, they were joined by the Krugersdorp Fire Department, Dowry Security, Thompson’s Security, MSR Security, Intellidrive, Jidz Towing, Netcare 911, ER24 and Mapogo Security. According to Sharday van den Berg from the CPF, they were able to hand out 2 800 Easter eggs to the residents – especially the children – of their area.

“We collected almost 3 000 Easter eggs with the help of our community and patrollers. Their assistance directly contributed to the smiles we were able to spread during the Easter holiday,” she said.

During their drive, they covered areas such as Wentworth Park, Monument and Noordheuwel. Once they were done with their visibility drive, Netcare 911 and the Easter Bunny, together with a few of the Sector 4 patrollers, thought it best to visit the elderly as well.

“After the drive we were able to make the hearts of the older generation happy too by handing out Easter eggs to the community of the Golden Age Village in Wentworth Park,” Sharday said.

The Sector 4 CPF would like to thank everyone who contributed to the day’s success and trusts that the community enjoyed their special visit.
