Craft demonstrations:

14 APRIL — Join Joan Launspach and Ray Esmany for inspirational craft demonstrations at Ngwenya Glass in Muldersdrift from 10am. They will be showcasing a revolutionary new method of transferring images and creating texture on furniture, cakes, fabric, paper and mixed media applications. Insects and Plants walk:
14 APRIL — The Kloofendal Nature Reserve presents an insects and plants walk with Biocontrol Entomologist, Stefan Neser, from 9am. Walk in the reserve learning about the many interactions between insects and plants. This walk is not suitable for children as the information will be addressed at an adult level. The guide will bring microscopes for a more detailed examination back in the Ecological Centre at the end of the walk. Costs are R70 for adults and R60 for pensioners. Nocturnal Creatures:

14 APRIL — The Kloofendal Nature Reserve presents an adventurous walk through the reserve with Grant Egen, looking for nocturnal animals such as owls, nightjars, frogs, moths and bats. FroK will supply nets. Participants are shown how to treat all living creatures with care and respect. Bring torches, raincoats in case of light rain and wear walking shoes. Costs are R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and R50 for children. Bookings can be done through Quicket.
60 Years of Shine:
21 APRIL — Join Girls and Boys Town for a family fun festival at their Magaliesburg campus from 10am. Book your family tickets early and you can stand a chance of winning a game drive and archery tickets for two courtesy of Monkwe Gametrackers. There will be live entertainment, lots of kids’ entertainment, food stalls, historic tours and loads more to do. This year marks their 60th anniversary and as a way of giving back, they invite all to attend this special celebration. Fundraising Golf Day:
24 APRIL — The NG Kerk Culembeeck is hosting a fundraising golf day at the Krugersdorp Golf Club. Proceeds raised will go towards cancer treatments for families in need. The day will consist of a Betterball Stableford competition and costs R1 600 for a four-ball. If you would like to sponsor a hole, costs are R500. Lira at Silverstar:

5 MAY — Lira will be performing at Silverstar – for the very first time – as part of her ‘Be About It’ tour. Commemorating the release of her most recent album, Born Free, the tour celebrates what Lira herself has described as “her best album yet”. This multi-platinum selling, and 11-time South African Music Award winning Afro-Soul superstar, will grace the Silverstar Centre stage as only she can, giving dedicated fans an intimate taste of her unique fusion of soul, funk, jazz and African musical style.
