PHOTOS: Jeep bursts into flames after overheating

Woman escapes unscathed.

A woman escaped with her life after her Jeep burst into flames at the intersection of Lud Hersch Drive and Hoffnaar Street last night, 25 April.

It’s reported that the woman had stopped at the side of the road because her vehicle was overheating. She opened the bonnet and realised it was on fire. She stood and watched as her vehicle burned to ashes.

Firemen and security companies were on scene to attend to the burning vehicle.

Dowry’s High Risk Unit, ER24, West Rand Fire and Rescue and other emergency services were called to the scene and all assisted where they could.

No injuries were reported but the woman was treated for shock. The reason for the spontaneous combustion of the vehicle is still being investigated.
