What is Worker’s Day?

Even though this day is celebrated across the globe, it has a particularly important message here in the rainbow nation.

Today celebrates you – the worker. This public holiday is testimony to the battles that South African workers have fought for worker’s rights and social justice over many years.

Even though this day is celebrated across the globe, it has a particularly important message here in the rainbow nation. It reminds citizens of the first democratic election and celebrates the working class which now stretches across all races and genders.

According to https://www.rajah.co.za, this incredible group of individuals fought for a democratic country. It is they who sacrificed so much and enabled the rest to enjoy the freedom and rights of citizenship in a united nation.

With this being said, it is important to take a few moments to appreciate the true meaning of today – freedom. Freedom to work, to spend time with your family and to be a South African.

Be proud of who you are and appreciate what you have. Let your South African spirit burn bright today and show the world what it truly means to be a South African worker. It’s time to start working together to create a brighter future for the nation and wage war on poverty.
