Two people dead on notorious death road: the R28
Two occupants were ejected from the vehicle and sustained severe head injuries.
A man and a woman lost their lives during a motor vehicle accident on the R28 near the Plantland turnoff on Friday morning, 27 April.
The accident happened at about 1am. It’s believed the vehicle rolled before coming to a standstill at the side of the road. Two other occupants of the vehicle were flung out and sustained severe head injuries.

Help24 and Netcare 911 both transported patients to various hospitals. The man needed to be transported to Netcare Pinehaven Hospital to be stabilised. The paramedics waited until 4am for the man to be stable and then transferred him to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The female patient was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but authorities were on scene to investigate.
