SPARK Witpoortjie to open in Krugersdorp in January 2019

In keeping with the school's commitment, the school fees are kept as low as possible.

SPARK Schools will be launching its sixteenth educational facility when SPARK Witpoortjie opens its doors in January 2019.

SPARK Schools may be a relative newcomer to the South African private education scene, but it is already making a huge impact and, earlier this year, was placed in the top three in a list of the top 10 private schools in Johannesburg by the publication SA Diaries.

After children are taught in class, they move to a learning lab, where computers with adaptive software track and improve their grasp of concepts.

SPARK Schools is an independent school network founded by Stacey Brewer and Ryan Harrison in 2012. The schools use a blended learning model with adaptive software and individualised learning to accelerate learning and increase learner achievement.

SPARK Schools uses a hybrid funding model, having attracted funding from both non-profit foundations focused on high impact philanthropy and from for-profit impact investors.

The Witpoortjie campus will be located at 1499 Lipton Street, Mindalore and will offer Grades R to 3 in its first year and then grow by a grade each year.

In keeping with the school’s commitment to keep school fees as low as possible, fees for 2019 will be R23 100 for the year or R2 310 per month for 10 months.

Also important for working parents, the school’s aftercare costs will be very affordable and children can be cared for at the school until 5.30pm daily for only R500 a month. A once-off stationery and textbook cost of R500 also applies.

SPARK Schools believes in providing high-calibre education with impressive results at an affordable cost to working parents. They do this through their use of a blended learning model that combines direct instruction with technology.

After children are taught in class, they move to a learning lab, where computers with adaptive software track and improve their grasp of concepts. The data collected is then used to tailor-make a learning path for each child by providing micro-objectives based on how they’re performing.

While the Witpoortjie campus is not available for viewing yet, open days will be announced later in the year. However, enrollments for this school are now open at https://www.sparkschools.co.za/apply-now/.
