After the injured man had been loaded into the ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital, all hell broke loose.
The rest of the group of friends went to the police station, where the situation quickly got out of hand, as they became angry about the situation. The police battled to find available vehicles to send to the scene and local residents were warned to stay out of the area until the situation calmed.
An hour later, police managed to disperse the angry crowd and peace was restored.
Investigations into the incident will continue.
