Its a cold weekend, but the events happening around town is hot, hot, hot!
Although it might seem like a great weekend to stay in, there are a few things happening which you might be interested in.

Mystery Ghost Bus:

15 JUNE — The Mystery Ghost Bus tour kicks off in Johannesburg from 7pm until midnight. What’s in store? ‘Pub & Grub’ stops, poltergeists, electronic voice phenomenon recordings, dowsing rods, castles, a dark haunted room, graveyards and much more. Costs are R389 per person. Dan Patlansky at Barnyard:

16 JUNE — Dan Patlansky will be performing at The Barnyard Theatre at Silverstar Casino on 16 June for the launch of his brand new album, Perfection Kills. Dan’s brand new album was released worldwide on 2 February. The album is the follow-up to 2016’s critically acclaimed Introvertigo, which was voted #1 Blues Rock Album in the world by Blues Rock Review USA, and his ninth studio offering. Horse and Hound Expo:
17 JUNE — Oppistal is hosting a Horse and Hound Complementary Healing Expo in aid of Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora) from 9.30am at their premises on the Sterkfontein Country Estate. Entrance fee is a bag or tin of dog or cat food. All proceeds will go towards Fora. There will be a fun dog walk event and free demonstrations by therapists. There will also be yummy food and drinks available from Red Pepper Events. Markets stalls will keep the adults busy while children can enjoy pony rides for R20. Hike the Koppies:
17 JUNE — Join in on a guided group tour through the Melville Koppies. The hike sets off at 8.30am sharp. Park, meet and pay in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Entrance costs R60 for adults and R40 for children – all donations used to maintain the Koppies. Hikers must be fit with good balance as paths are rocky and steep. Boktown on the Square:

16 and 23 JUNE — Silverstar’s Square will be alive with the sounds of passionate sports fans as it’s transformed into Boktown! From the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, to all of the biggest Springbok games, Silverstar will be screening these events live on the largest outdoor screen on the West Rand. General sports screenings will take place from 9am to 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Met ander Woorde:

16 JUNIE — Lizz Meiring bied haar eenvrouvertoning, Met Ander Woorde aan by Hollywood Klein Teater in Krugersdorp-Wes ten bate van Kleinvallei. Met ander Woorde is die nuwe slim-snaakse, energieke, eenvrouvertoning deur die multibekroonde aktrise, skrywer en regisseur Lizz Meiring. Kaartjies is R150 elk en sluit kaas en wyn in. Na die vertoning sal Speelplaat vir julle musiek van die 80’s maak. Moenie die aand mis loop nie! Via kom skiet ook die aand aan hul nuwe “reality show” oor Hollywood Costumes en sy mense. 16 JUNIE — Die Wielefees vind weer hierdie jaar by Laerskool Horison, op die hoek van Mouton- en Weaverstrate, Horison, Roodepoort plaas. Benewens ‘n uitstalling van pragtige veteraan- en klassieke motors, is daar vlooimarkstalletjies en al die gebruiklike kosstalletjies. Daar is hope pret vir die kinders, met treintjieritte teen R10 en ‘n gratis springkasteel. Dan tree Lance James en Min Shaw om 11vm op en Pieter Engelbrecht om 12uur. Daar is nog baie ruimte vir motors en daar is nog gratis vlooimarkstalletjieruimtes beskikbaar. Toegang is R20 vir volwassenes en hoërskoolleerlinge, met laerskoolleerlinge en voorskool gratis. Father’s Day potjie competition:
17 JUNE — Join Ngwenya Glass Village in Muldersdrift for a potjie competition from 10am to 4pm. Great prizes are up for grabs. Anyone can enter at R300 per team. All cooking to be done on the day.
