Yesterday, 28 June, Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) Water and Sanitation Manager, Sandile Mbanjwa, informed the local DA that he had met with Rand Water representatives and that an arrangement had been made to lift the water supply restriction and restore water to residents.

“A reliable source at Mogale City has informed the DA that this is not the case and that Rand Water has not lifted the restriction. The return of water to some areas is a result of pressure build up overnight and taps will run dry again when demand increases. Mogale City Officials continue to deceive councillors and the community in an attempt to cover up their mismanagement,” a statement from the local DA reads.
The DA has requested MCLM to release an official statement to inform residents of the current state of affairs.
