Wiki wiki wa … DJ Grizzly in the house
His dreams soon became a reality when he established his own show, called 'Wild West Show' on Westside FM.
Local listeners are especially fond of Kagiso resident, Boys Mnguni, who is currently en route to establishing his own voice within the community.
Boys, who is also known as DJ Grizzly was born and bred in Kagiso, and attended school at Jan de Klerk High School.
Radio presenters are the voice of a station or programme. They create the tone and style of radio output and establish a relationship with listeners. However, creating a unique tone in a world filled with endless voices can become quite challenging.
According to this talented DJ, musician and radio presenter, his journey started in the basement. Since the beginning of his career he has won several competitions including Yamaha Young Talent, Dikonokono Poetry and DJ’s Unleashed. He also holds the title of the Number 1 hip-hop DJ on the West Rand.
Even though he studied media upon matriculating, he couldn’t complete his studies due to financial issues. But he didn’t give up.
His dreams soon became a reality when he established his own show, called Wild West Show, on Westside FM. According to DJ Grizzly his radio show has always been about promoting young and talented artists.
He added that he is also big on activism and charity events, as well as attending high schools in an effort to introduce learners to the world of radio.
