Young man shot and killed near church

According to witnesses, the deceased was also in possession of the firearm during a shootout between him and the suspect.

A young man was shot and killed on Tuesday, 10 July at about 7pm near a ZCC building in Tshepisong.

Police received a complaint of a shooting from an anonymous caller.

Police reported that when they arrived they found the deceased on the ground between a house and the building. He was bleeding from gunshot wounds to his head.

The suspect was also allegedly wounded before he was rushed to the nearest hospital by an accomplice. The motive for the shooting is being investigated.

Police did not recover the deceased’s alleged firearm on the scene.

A murder docket has been opened at the Kagiso Police Station and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police are however appealing to members of the public, especially Tshepisong residents to report any person with an unlicensed firearm to Kagiso Police on 011 696 9000/ 9059/ 9065/ 9067 or alternatively 08600 10111.
