Party, paint and cake for Madiba Day

Together with several other volunteers, Lebogang provided 22 toddlers between the ages of two and five with an exciting mini-party.

On Wednesday, 18 July local resident, Lebogang Mmelesi returned to his roots with a vision and a purpose in an effort to honour Tata Madiba’s legacy.

He returned to his creche – Thabong Educare Centre – in Kagiso, where he spent close to five years of his childhood. Even though this is only his first Mandela Day project, he made sure to set the bar high for his future projects.

Together with several other volunteers, Lebogang provided 22 toddlers between the ages of two and five with an exciting mini-party. Each child received some soup, hotdogs, packets of sweets, clothes and even celebratory cake.

To end off the party, this passionate community member and his team renovated the inside of the creche by repainting the walls.

He would also like to thank all the sponsors and interested parties who contributed towards the success of the project. However, in order to take on more projects, he needs more support. If you are interested in helping Lebogang make a difference in his community, feel free to contact him on 062 496 3821.
