UPDATE: ‘Land must go to the rightful owners’
West Rand public hearing on land expropriation underway at Westonaria City Hall ...

A public hearing on land expropriation is currently taking place in Westonaria.
The Constitutional Review Committee has set its sights on the West Rand for public hearings about a possible amendment of section 25 of the Constitution to allow expropriation without compensation.
The public will have the opportunity to share its views on the controversial topic of land expropriation without compensation. The proposed target groups are land/property owners, Community Property Associations, farm owners and youth and children formations.
According to one woman, “This whole process creates a lot of fear around communities and citizens of South Africa.”
