Young Kagiso man arrested for murder
A woman called the police and when they arrived on scene she showed them the body lying just a few metres away.
A 26-year-old suspect was arrested in Sinqobile recently after he allegedly stabbed a man to death.
The Kagiso Police received a report about a murder and sent several crime prevention members to the alleged scene of the crime.
The members found a visibly shocked woman standing in her yard. She pointed out the body of a man lying face-down and bleeding in her yard.
The 22-year-old deceased had sustained stab wounds to his left upper body and was certified dead on scene by the paramedics. The motive for the killing was unknown, but a manhunt for the suspect was launched, and a case docket of murder was opened by the Kagiso Police.
The police later received a tip-off from some members of the community about the whereabouts of the perpetrator. They then pounced on him and arrested him. He was later detained at the Kagiso Police Station and formally charged.
The suspect is expected to appear briefly in court soon, on charges of murder.
