Help woman find her beloved fur child
She explained that Brakkenjan, who is two years old, is not like any other dog.
Lizz Pienaar, a brokenhearted resident from the Wentworth Park area, is urgently looking for her dog, Brakkenjan, who went missing during the night of Tuesday, 14 August.
She explained that Brakkenjan, who is two years old, is not like any other dog.
“He is a free spirit who just can’t be tied down. After his mother, Mischief, died about three years ago, I promised her that I would never love any other dog like I loved her. But before I knew it, I fell completely in love with her son, and I knew she’d understand,” she said.
“We spoke each other’s language from the very start. We have a very strong connection.”
She said the community knows Brakkenjan very well too, since he always rides with her whenever he gets the chance. Even though he is very fond of wandering off during the day and night, he never misses a trip with Lizz to drop and fetch her grandchildren at school in the morning and afternoon.
“He always peers out the window and wants everyone to play with him. Even at the school – all the children know him,” she said.
She also said that he loves to play with balls and often gets given balls by people who knows him.
“Brakkenjan always goes to West Rand Plastic, where he knows the store will give him some balls. He really has a thing for plastic balls,” she said.
Brakkenjan was last seen near Key West Shopping Centre.

To top it off, Lizz has also been homing a second dog whose owner hasn’t claimed it in more than a month. She is appealing to the community to help her find her beloved fur child and for the owner of the lost dog to claim it.
