15-year-old rape victim finally gets justice
The rapist received a 12 year prison sentence for raping the young girl.
A young girl’s life was changed when she was raped by a 35-year-old man in 2017.
Now, nearly a year later, the 15-year-old can rest assured that her rapist will spend time behind bars.
The rapist was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

Sergeant Lethlogonolo Ramokgadi, the investigating officer assigned to the case, was applauded for her investigation.
“Dedicated investigation resulted in this success. We appreciate the efforts that the member made to ensure a proper sentence. We also commend our partners in the National Prosecuting Authority for their stance in the crimes against women and children,” said Lieutenant Colonel Kathy Segotta, commander of the West Rand Cluster Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
