Dead man lying in road victim of hit-and-run

Paramedics found him lying in the middle of the road and saw that he showed no signs of life.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed during the night of 23 August in an alleged hit-and-run incident at the Albertina Sisulu (Main Reef) Road and Cairn Dhu Street intersection in Luipaardvlei.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 9.50pm to find the body of a man lying in the middle of the intersection.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The vehicle in question was not found on the scene.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
