11 arrested in Tarlton during weekend unrest
Offences ranged from assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and theft to malicious damage to property and domestic violence.
During the weekend of 25 and 26 August, the police in the Tarlton policing precinct arrested several suspects while patrolling the area in effort to ensure that all residents are safe.
According to Constable Lucky Matome, Tarlton Police spokesperson, 11 suspects were nabbed for various offences ranging from assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and theft to malicious damage to property and domestic violence.
“Those arrested include seven undocumented foreign nationals, as well as a 39-year-old woman who allegedly came back home at about 9pm heavily under the influence of an intoxicating substance,” he said.
“She allegedly insulted her mother and broke windows.”
He concluded that the suspects mentioned above are expected to appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
