Top Tarlton cop cream of the crop
According to Constable Molefe he is motivated by being able to help those who cannot help themselves.
Some time in March last year a very determined 25-year-old joined other police recruits to attend police training at the Tshwane Academy.
He was none other than Constable Mhlengi Molefe who subsequently underwent 11 months of intensive training. He graduated as a full Constable on 22 December 2017 and was deployed at Tarlton Police as a detective.
As a rookie, he was mentored by his branch commander, Captain Sam Nkhumane.
During the following year Captain Molefe was given dockets/ cases to investigate and he did not disappoint as he managed to secure a number of convictions.
Some of his successes:
• The 38-year-old Nkosincedile Mlamla was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment or a R2 000 fine after he was found guilty of possession of stolen goods.
• The 25-year-old Thabo John Malebo was sentenced to four months imprisonment or R2 000 fine for a domestic-violence related case.
• The 40-year-old Daniel Ntateng Sello was sentenced to three months imprisonment or a fine of R1 000.
These convictions were secured from January this year to date.
“This young and dedicated police officer is the epitome of a top cop. His willingness to investigate the cases assigned to him resulted in these successes,” Constable Lucky Matome, Tarlton Police spokesperson said.
Molefe said he is motivated by being able to help those who cannot help themselves.
The Tarlton Police station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tsoaedi also expressed her satisfaction with Molefe’s dedication and hard work.
